TIAN Xuyang
Title/Position:Associate Researcher
Research Areas:Brain Organoid Development and Neurological Disease Mechanisms
Email:tianxuyang_26@tju.edu.cn
Brief Introduction:
Dr. Tian received her B.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Xiamen University. She then undertook postdoctoral research at Tsinghua University under the supervision of Prof. Sen-Fang Sui, a structural biologist, and was awarded the Outstanding Postdoctoral Fund of the Tsinghua–Peking University Center for Life Sciences. She is currently an Associate Researcher at Tianjin University.
Her research focuses on brain organoid development and the mechanisms of neurological disorders. By integrating brain organoids, neural signal encoding and decoding, brain–computer interface technologies, and in situ cryo-electron microscopy, she seeks to elucidate human neural development and to establish models of neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative disorders, with the goal of identifying precise drug targets and developing novel strategies for disease prevention, prediction, diagnosis, and treatment.
As first author (including co-first author), she has published multiple papers in journals including Nature Structural & Molecular Biology and Nature Communications. She currently leads a project funded by the Youth Science Fund (Category C) of the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
