Brief Introduction:

Jie Mei received his Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering from Tianjin University in 2026 under the supervision of Prof. Dong Ming and Prof. Minpeng Xu. He is currently an Assistant Researcher and Postdoctoral Fellow at the School of Medicine, Tianjin University. His research focuses on brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) and brain-computer interaction, with particular interests in non-invasive BCIs, BCI-based control, and co-evolving BCIs. He is the principal investigator of a Young Scientists Fund (Category C) project supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and has served as a key member of multiple national research projects, including the National Key R&D Program of China. He has published more than 10 papers in journals including Nature Electronics and IEEE Transactions on Automation Science and Engineering, with one paper recognized as an ESI Highly Cited Paper. He has contributed as a major drafter to one national standard, holds four authorized Chinese invention patents, and has given oral presentations at international conferences including IEEE EMBC. He is also a core developer of the open-source BCI platform MetaBCI.

Academic Achievements:

• Representative publications include a memristor-based adaptive neuromorphic decoder for BCIs (Nature Electronics, 2025; ESI Highly Cited Paper), a high-DOF BCI control strategy for continuous drone motion (IEEE T-ASE, 2025), MetaBCI: an open-source platform for BCIs (Computers in Biology and Medicine, 2024), and an online adaptation framework for calibration-free SSVEP-BCIs (IEEE JBHI, 2026).

• His research outcomes have been selected for the National 13th Five-Year Plan Science and Technology Innovation Achievements Exhibition, the Brain-Computer Interface Industry Alliance Innovative Achievements, and the Top 10 Research Advances in Semiconductors.

• Current and recent projects include the NSFC Young Scientists Fund (Category C, PI), a Tianjin University independent research fund (PI), a technology development project (PI), and the Science and Technology Innovation 2030 Major Project Young Scientist Program (participant).

Honors & Awards:
